Complex carbohydrates come from grains and starchy vegetables. A wide range of foods is the best way to get a wide range of the nutrients that we need. |
Eating more starchy vegetables in place of starchy grains is encouraged. When trying to offer balanced meals with great flavors and a good variety of foods from day to day and week to week I often find myself trying to remember if some given vegetable is a starchy vegetable and can I use it with something else...sigh. So a list or actually two.
