Waldorf Salad Applesauce Five Cup Salad |
Fruit side dishes that are not desserts are listed here. Often they can pass as a dessert, however, their place has traditionally been at the main table. Some are served as an everyday dish whilst others are reserved for holiday meals, much awaited and sighed over! |

I have updated this recipe, primarily in the volume department. I freeze the extra, it's great for putting in with a packed lunch, keeping lunch cool while thawing. A to Z Applesauce is the same recipe as the Zucchini/Apple Sauce listed on the Vegetable Sides Page. Shhh! Don't tell and they won't know. This is a tasty way to get folk to eat their veggies and reduces the amount of sugars and carbs from traditional applesauce.

So easy to make, it's quick and there is nothing like warm applesauce on a cold day. Whether it is served over pancakes, waffles or served up beside meat and potatoes, applesauce is sure to please.

This is another of my favorites! It was always served with dinner for the holidays at my Mother's, Auntie's and
grandmother's houses. I felt like I was getting away with eating dessert first!
