Due to food allergies or intolerance's we have to watch what fats are used, some spray releases uses soy oil that is bad for my Thyroid condition and others use palm oil and there are allergies to that amongst family and friends so I usually use the good old fashion grease the pan with butter or lard and flour to coat. But that is messy and if you're in a hurry, a bit time consuming. I had seen this idea on Pinterest and Facebook and knowing that I could use the ingredients that work for my family and friends decided to try it.

Use a pastry brush to coat the pan. Getting into the corners or details if using a shaped or Bundt pan. Be sure there is a good coating on the bottom of the pan unless you are using waxed paper to line the bottom of you pan.
When I put in an estimated number of servings my poor nutritional counter got a headache. It comes down to about 2 calories per serving based on using 2 Tablespoons in a 9 x 13 pan and then dividing that by 16 servings; assuming that 1/3 of the coating was absorbed by the cake batter and the other 2/3 was left on the pan.
