Soups can be quick and easy or they can be time consuming and complicated. Depends on the recipe and whether you have to do everything from scratch or if you have components made up ahead of time ready to be used. Components and mixes that are made ahead can make your life so much easier. Using said ingredients can make a soup that tastes like you have cooked for hours where you are able to pull everything together in a hour. Yes, the work was done earlier but it pulls together for a meal quickly when you don't have the time or the energy to do much cooking.
Do you want a meal quicker? Make up a pot of soup and serve part of it for a meal and freeze the rest in individual portions or enough for your family's dinner. A microwave will thaw and heat your soup up in short time. Serve with crackers or a quick bread such as muffins or biscuits. With several kinds of soups in the freezer in individual portions you can serve everyone their favorites for supper or have a well rounded week of hot lunches at work. |
