Use a pastry brush to coat the pan. Getting into the corners or details if using a shaped or Bundt pan. Be sure there is a good coating on the bottom of the pan unless you are using waxed paper to line the bottom of you pan.
When I put in an estimated number of servings my poor nutritional counter got a headache. It comes down to about 2 calories per serving based on using 2 Tablespoons in a 9 x 13 pan and then dividing that by 16 servings; assuming that 1/3 of the coating was absorbed by the cake batter and the other 2/3 was left on the pan.
